Nubian Dairy Goats

Nubians were developed in the 1800s in England by crossing British goats with those of African and Indian origin. Although not heavy producers, their milk has a high average butter fat content. They can be recognized by their Roman noses and long floppy ears - the latter being one reason they’re well suited to hot climates.

We started our herd with three kids in 2023. We'll be introducing a buck in 2024 and hope to start milking and to have kids available in spring/summer 2025.

Matilda

Matilda is one of our original does and twin sister to Hazel. She's sweet and curious, but finicky about her daily ration. Some days she gobbles it down and others she walks away.

Hazel

Hazel is one of our original does and twin sister to Matilda. She's a little shy but playful, and not too picky about feed.

Rupert

Rupert is our wether. His job is to hang out with Prince and keep him company. He likes chin rubs, head butting and getting into trouble and wants all the feed for himself.

Prince

Prince joined the farm in August 2024. He's our buck and his job is to keep his hairdo looking good, breed the females and live a life of general leisure.
